What is an AA Meeting?

An AA Meeting is a program where alcoholics and people who struggle with drug use gather for one hour to share their experience, strength, and hope. AA Members who attend an Alcoholic’s Anonymous meeting in Rockford, North Carolina will share their experience getting sober through their personal stories with anyone working on their recovery journey. There is no religious, social or economic association for membership, just the want to get sober, and live a happy & healthy existence without alcohol.

Choosing An AA Meeting in Rockford, North Carolina

There are a variety different AA meetings in Rockford, North Carolina. Before selecting the meeting that you are going to join, it is helpful to know the different types of AA meetings and what happens at each one.

How to Get The Most From an Alcoholics Anonymous Meeting in Rockford, North Carolina

In order to benefit the most from your first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting you should remain open minded. We all had an idea of what these meeting were and generally it is the same misconception. The most beneficial thing I was told was to sit down, shut up, listen to the message, and humbly ask for help. No matter the type of meeting meeting, that one thing that won’t change is the message of recovering from a hopeless state of mind. The process of recovering from that hopeless state is in asking for help from another person suffering from alcoholism which you will find in any AA meeting you choose to pick as your first.
