What is an AA Meeting?
A meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous is an assembly where alcoholics and people who struggle with drug use gather for one hour to express their experience, strength, and hope. AA Members who attend an Alcoholic’s Anonymous meeting in Argentine, Michigan will share their experience getting sober through their personal anecdotes with anyone seeking help with a drinking problem. There is no religious, social or economic association for membership, just the want to achieve sobriety, and live a productive existence without alcohol.
How to Choose an AA Meeting in Argentine, Michigan
It is important when coming to AA that you select a meeting that is suited for where you are at in sobriety. The 1st type of meeting is a new comers meeting and is not solely for new comers but is a meeting that motivates members to share their stories and reach out for help. Another type of meeting would be a single gender meeting, which is only open to either men or women. A Closed meeting simply means the group is solely focused on conversations regarding how to stay sober from alcohol. Talking about any other substance use addictions is not allowed. A Step Study is a gathering that is simply a specific step and spoken about in length regarding the best approach to working this step and applying it to your daily life. Traditions meetings are based off the 12 traditions of AA. The 12 traditions are different than the 12 steps. The traditions are built to maintain order throughout AA and maintaining accountability to these traditions is the reason you can attend a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous anywhere in the world to hear the same message.
How to Get The Most From an Alcoholics Anonymous Meeting in Argentine, Michigan
The most successful members of Alcoholics Anonymous tend to find success through getting involved in the program. For addicts who are attending their first AA meeting and really want to get sober, we recommend following the suggestions of the AA members that have come before you.
It is smart to accept where you are at with you sobriety and admit that you need help. Part of not drinking is helping the newcomers of Alcoholics Anonymous in Argentine maintain their sobriety, so people are going to be more than willing to help you get sober too. Stand up, introduce yourself, admit that you need help.
