The one piece of advice I was ever given was to sit down, shut up, pay attention to the message, and humbly ask for help. Regardless of the meeting, that one thing that won’t change is the message of recovering from hopelessness. The process of recovering from that hopeless state is in asking for help from another person suffering from alcoholism which you will find in any Alcoholics Anonymous meeting you choose to pick as your first.
