How to Choose an AA Meeting in Knoxville, Arkansas
Alcohol Addiction is a disease of the mind, body, and soul. AA has created meetings to guide you through each individual piece of your independence from alcohol. If you are looking for a meeting on the first 3 steps, you should select a beginner meeting. If you are looking to focus on your spiritual side, attending a meditation meeting can help. If you are in search of stories of inspiration for overcoming alcoholism, a speaker meeting is a good starting point. If you are through your steps and are now working on the traditions of AA, a traditions meetings will be beneficial. If you want to attend a single gender group, you can go to a men’s or women’s meeting where you wont find anyone of the opposite gender there. All in all there is a meeting for everyone. How to Get The Most From an Alcoholics Anonymous Meeting in Knoxville, Arkansas
In order to get the most out of your first AA meeting you should keep an open minded. Everyone had preconceived notions of what these meeting were and generally it is the same misconception. The most beneficial thing I was told was to sit down, shut up, pay attention to the message, and humbly ask for help. Regardless of the meeting, the one constant will be message of recovering from hopelessness. The process of recovering from that hopeless state is in asking for help from another alcoholic which you will find in any meeting you choose to start with.
